Natuashish is a new community created so
as to relocate the residents of Davis Inlet to a mainland area. It is a
community of 750 people and it is nestled in the woods adjacent to
Sango Mountain. The population is
predominately Mushuau Innu people. Recreational activities involve mainly
outdoor pursuits such as fishing, hunting and trapping, and snowmobiling.
Hockey and volleyball are two popular indoor sports. The dominate church
presence is Roman Catholic. Economic activity centers around government
organizations and private businesses. The creation of a new community
promises some new challenges and exciting opportunities.
Band Council The band council office has our post office. Our chief is Prote Poker.
Health commission The health commission has two nurses. A Doctor and Dentist visit periodically.
General Store Our general store has an ample supply of delicious food. As well, we have a take out that serves fast food from 7:00-9:00 pm.
